Privacy Policy

Overview
Axes of Fate ("the App") is published by Left Coast Specialists, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.
This policy covers Axes of Fate v2 and later on iOS and Android. v1 (which ran on AWS Cognito) was retired on May 16, 2026 and stopped accepting new data at that time. Only v2 is active.
Offline Use
The App works fully offline without an account. When used offline, all game data (player names, scores, and settings) is stored locally on your device and never leaves it. The sections below apply only when you choose to sign in.
Authentication
The App offers optional sign-in through Clerk, a third-party identity platform. Depending on your platform, you may sign in with:
- Sign in with Apple (iOS only)
- Sign in with Google (iOS and Android)
- Email and password (iOS and Android)
We do not store your password. Authentication is handled entirely by your chosen identity provider and Clerk. From Clerk, we receive only your email address, display name, and a unique identifier.
Data We Collect
When you sign in, the App may collect and store the following data on our servers:
- Account information: email address, display name, avatar URL
- Game history: game type, scores, player names, and date played
- Settings: your in-app preferences (sound, animations, ghost player configuration)
- Feedback: messages you submit, along with your app version, device model, and operating system version
- T-shirt ideas: community t-shirt sayings you submit and your votes on others' submissions
- Device attestation: a cryptographic assertion from Apple App Attest (iOS) or Google Play Integrity (Android) used solely to confirm that requests come from a genuine build of the App. No device identifiers are retained beyond what the platform provides.
We do not collect:
- Location data
- Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
- Advertising identifiers
- Cookies or web beacons
- Contacts, photos, or other device data
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide App features:
- Syncing your settings and game history across devices
- Delivering and responding to your feedback
- Displaying community t-shirt ideas and vote counts
- Verifying that API requests come from a genuine copy of the App
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Data Storage
Cloud data is stored in Cloudflare D1 (SQLite), processed by Cloudflare Workers at the edge. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted to your authenticated account via a short-lived session token issued by Clerk.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services strictly to operate its features:
- Clerk — user identity and session management
- Sign in with Apple — identity provider (iOS only)
- Sign in with Google — identity provider (iOS and Android)
- Cloudflare Workers, D1, and KV — API hosting and data storage
- Resend — transactional email delivery for feedback relays
- Apple App Attest (iOS) / Google Play Integrity (Android) — device attestation
These services are used only to operate the App. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Data Retention and Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from within the App. When you delete your account:
- Your Clerk identity is removed immediately
- Your personal information is nulled and all associated data (game history, feedback, settings, t-shirt ideas, votes) is permanently deleted from our servers
- An anonymized account tombstone is retained to prevent re-use of the internal identifier
Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. We recommend exporting your data first if you want a copy. If you do not delete your account, your data is retained for as long as your account exists.
Data Export
You may request a complete export of all your data (profile, feedback, settings, game history, and t-shirt ideas) at any time through the App. The export is provided in a machine-readable JSON format.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you (via data export)
- Request correction of inaccurate data (via profile editing)
- Request deletion of your data (via account deletion)
- Withdraw consent by deleting your account or using the App offline
International Data Transfers
Cloudflare operates a global edge network. Requests are served by the Cloudflare location nearest to you and may be processed in any country where Cloudflare operates. Data at rest in D1 is held in the region Cloudflare designates for your database. Appropriate safeguards (TLS in transit, encryption at rest) apply in all locations.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
